Solidarity Calicut district conference held
Calicut: Solidarity Youth Movement organized a grand conference at Calicut on 10th Jan, Saturday. The conference based on the theme "Youth is for struggle" was attended by more than 25,000 people including thousands of women. The rally held in the city prior to the conference was attended by 6000 youth and was decorated with many floats on themes of contemporary importance.Mr T Arif Ali, Ameer of JIH Kerala circle inaugurated the conference. He demanded that the ongoing aggression of Israel over Palestine has to be stopped at the earliest unilaterally. India, a country having heritage of long years should come forward to lead the anti imperial bloc of the world and should ask and pressurize Israel to stop the massacre.
Mr Arif Ali also clarified that the entry of JIH into the political realm of the country cannot be stopped through mere rumor mongering. Jamaat had acted creatively in Indian politics from the early times of emergency. He asked those religious and secular groups opposing the entry of Jamaat into the politics to study the stances of Mahatma Gandhi about Democracy and Secularism. He had described parliamentary democracy as "barren" and democracy as "prostitute". Gandhiji also articulated democracy as the best toy a country can get. But nobody called him anti national. He also negated the western approach that distanced religious values from the public spheres. Jamaat also has the same approaches of Gandhiji on these issues. Jamaat always tries to get light from the divine book that could be expanded according to the civilizational progresses. He added.
